DAGMAR'S FRIEND

I mentioned this film in an earlier post, well, I now have it uploaded to YouTube so people can see it.

Carney and I made this film one summer and were lucky enough to get the wonderfully talented Kate Harbour to do ALL the voices. We were also lucky enough to get Oliver Davis at We Write Music to bring the film to life with the music and sound effects. I spent a day with Ollie working on the sound effects (we bought a lot of balloons that day) and I remember jumping around his studio singing the score while he played it with the digital equivalent of a full orchestra.

A HUGE amount of fun to make. Hope you enjoy it.

wow. Your cartoon rocks. I have no idea how long it must've taken to finish...but it's awesome and well worth the effort.

Hi Ian, I remember you very well - wondered where you'd got to after leaving London. Mr Carney pointed me to your blog yesterday actually. Cool stuff on here. Always dug your style. Good to see you're keeping busy & still working for PICASSO.
Ian's been writing a pilot script for my Heidi:Alpine Rescue project (- link from my blog) which is coming along nicely.
Super blog, don't know why I haven't seen it before but I'll be checking back.
Good to hear from you-

Many thanks shakespeareslove and gopher, welcome to Strange Planet:)

We meet again, Mister Jones. Sounds like the pilot script for Heidi (excellent project, by the way, absolutely brilliant) is in safe hands.

It's great to hear from you after all these years. Be sure to check out Grimmwood while you're here.

It's a fantastically warped place Ian Carney gets his ideas from. Takes me ages to download the animation you've been putting up, but it's worth it.

I don't know that I can describe it better than paulhd did ~ Fantastically Warped is perfect!

Dagmar's pretty cute for an evil child! But I don't blame her really, who wants to sit around with a round buddy all day???

Great stuff! Your work is spectacular! ;)

I really like it! I love Dagmar, cute character.

Will you be making any more shorts like this one?

Hi Robin, glad you like Dagmar. As far as there being anymore Dagmar cartoons in the future, not likely. I think we only ever envisaged making the one.

You can look at other stuff I've made here and I'm currently developing a short film called Grimmwood (which I'm soon to update).
